It is intended for developers, consultants, municipal staff, landowners or anyone looking to gain a general knowledge of sustainable stormwater planning and practices. The course is comprised of four modules, the first discusses the evolution of stormwater management and the progression to LID. The next module introduces the principles of LID and non-structural site design strategies. Eleven LID practices are examined, providing general descriptions, special considerations and an overview of typical stormwater performance expectations in the third module. The final module explores the financial benefits of LID and introduces useful guides and tools that can be used to determine the costs of an LID project.

Large-Scale Performance Enhancement Study of Sediment Basins

This technical presentation will discuss research results of large-scale testing efforts focused on developing technologies to provide improved performance of sediment basins. The study, conducted at the Auburn University - Erosion and Sediment Control Testing Facility (AU-ESCTF), includes the investigation of traditional and advanced passive treatment using a lamella-based high-rate settling plate system.
