Introduction to Low Impact Development

This course has been developed to introduce participants to the concept of Low Impact Development (LID). It is intended for developers, consultants, municipal staff, landowners or anyone looking to gain a general knowledge of sustainable stormwater planning and practices. The course is comprised of four modules, the first discusses the evolution of stormwater management and the progression to LID. The next module introduces the principles of LID and non-structural site design strategies. Techniques for Effective Beach & Shoreline Stabilization • Part One

Module one discusses the components of the coastal system and explains longshore transport, tidal inlet processes, the causes of erosion and offers a variety of engineering solution to address these problems.
